By this, we mean that you should open early and close late on a specific day to ensure that more clients can come by at their convenience.

After all, while everyone needs the services you provide, today’s busy lifestyle often gets in the way.

If you can be just a little more flexible, you’d be surprised at how much more business you can get!

But How Early Is Early?

You’ve decided to spruce up your schedule, but you’re stuck on the next question: how early is early; or how late is late?

Truth is, there is no absolute rule. Rather, it’s all a matter of judgement. So try opening about two hours earlier than usual or staying open that much longer.

This way all those stuck with an early start or a late end to their day will find the perfect refuge in a salon that accommodates their needs. Since you’re providing what they need, these are the people bound to become loyal customers!

Loyal customers mean more money in the long run - so why miss out?

Decide your time based upon your usual hours as well as your location.

If you’re situated in the heart of the city or near a busy train station, most of your clientele won’t have to commute much.

So open up an hour earlier, and close up an hour later at least once a week. This should give your customers plenty of time to book an appointment.

On the other hand, if you’re located in/near a working-class neighborhood, you might want to start your day a little earlier or stay open a little longer than that.

This way, your customers will be able to come over before or after their usual commute!

By making this little alteration, you’re going to see an increase of customers who never would’ve come around.

After all, you’re probably a lot more accessible than the salon down the street which hasn’t opened because it’s too early.

What’s more, you’ll get to know your clients better - giving you some more business, and them, an outlet of relaxation!

But that’s not all - the most important effect of this is distinction!

By changing up that weekly routine one day a week, you can stand out from the crowd. This will give you the much-needed push to get ahead in the competitive salon world.
