What’s the first thing to think about when adding pedicure spas to your salon?
It’s good to start with your needs. One of those needs will be that they should fit into your vision of your space. We’ll be focusing on how your pedi spa should look like in this article.
A good question to start with is - does your vision have pedicure benches or chairs?
If you’re not sure, here are some things to help you make your decision.
The standard pedicure chairs are great. But with so many new salons opening these days, a lot of salon owners are feeling the need to stand out of the crowd.
One way to do that is to simply have a different look and feel from the typical cookie-cutter nail salon. You can do that by upgrading to a nicer, or simply different, looking pedicure chair.
Or you can get pedicure benches instead of chairs.
Benches are becoming popular among salon owners who want to differentiate themselves. But they’re not so popular that they don’t feel special.
It’s often more cozy intimate, and sometimes more luxurious than chairs would be.
For that reason, many clients prefer to visit salons with benches in groups of two or more. They can feel like they’re doing something together, rather than sitting in separate chairs.
They feel more like sitting in furniture than equipment.
However, there are a couple drawbacks to pedi benches to consider.
For one, the seat and back are not adjustable. Also, there are no massage mechanisms in the backs of the benches.
If so, you have a couple of options.
If you decide to order them, the manufacturer will build and ship them directly to you.
There are two great pedi bench manufacturers in North America - ANS and Gulfstream. Both of these companies are well known pedicure spa manufacturers. With ANS you generally receive your order in 2-4 weeks. Gulfstream sometimes takes a bit longer, roughly 3-8 weeks.

This model can be configured as single, double, triple benches - or even longer. You can also leave some space between each bench if you like.
